One Week Ago!

Here I am last Saturday in the hospital with my new ACL in place. My surgery was Friday afternoon and Kerry watched in the OR. I was glad to have him there with me even though I was under anesthesia and don't remember. He said it went very well and was glad he watched. I think I look a lot sadder in this picture that I felt.
Anyway, here is how I spent the entire week, on the couch. I have been on minimal weight bearing status so crutches everywhere I go which has not been far. We have been spoiled with 9 meals brought over for us and many visitors. I have a few more days of sitting and will go to the Dr. on Tuesday to see what happens next. Kerry and the kids have been so amazingly helpful!! They are awesome!

Me at work.

I wasn't planning to take a picture of myself working last weekend but I did. I usually avoid being in front of the camera. But, I thought it was a good representation of what I spend a lot of my time doing---taking pictures!!! This was a fun engagement session. To go along with this I should really post a picture of me editing images on my computer. Alas, I don't have one. My knee surgery is at 12:30 pm tomorrow. I may be spending a night in the hospital. Thanks to all of you who have offered your help, I really appreciate it!

Great snow!

Tuesday we took our boys and cousin Jace up to Kelly Canyon for the afternoon. Here is Kieran carving down the hill. I was trying to get some good pictures of him for his facebook. Then I read a book in the lodge. My knee surgery is Friday. By next ski season, I should be ready for some real skiing again.
There were a few other people on the hill but the snow was awesome and the kids had a great time until the fog rolled in.
Kieran and Jace on the lift.

Go Jace!!
This was too funny not to post. Jace hurt his harm on a fall later in the day.
Kason was a total animal on the slopes. He went with Kerry everywhere!!! Here he is bombing the hill. He did great on Face and other more difficult areas, he loves it!
Kerry, nice ski's together style!
Fun day for Dad and boys!

Blue Creek

Last Friday, Kerry and Kim met up with Nathan and a friend (better late than never) and another friend of Kerry's named Dustin and his two buddies for a beautiful snowmobile ride at Blue Creek. The sun was actually shinning! I don't have many pictures to post but, here are a couple. Kerry said it was a fun day.

Kid Stuff

So sometimes, not near as often as I should, and definately not often enough for Lauren, I actually do a craft with my kids. A couple of weeks ago we did two in the same day--put a big smiley sticker on my forehead! Lauren and Kason had a great time playing with "edible Playdoh" aka peanut butter balls. (the kind made with equal parts peanut butter, dry milk, karo syrup and powdered sugar) Yummy and fun!
Then we did marble paintings. You cover marbles in paint and them roll them around in a cookie sheet with paper taped on the bottom of it. Does this count as abstract art?

Think Summer!

Sometime during the bitter cold of the long Idaho winter, I start to think about summer. Thinking about summer makes me think about boating. Thinking about boating makes me think about Kerry and how great he is at slalom skiing and how much fun our family has our on our boat at Blacktail and Palisades and how nice the warm weather is and....... Hopefully the current winter will make for a fun boating summer. I guess it's time to stock up on sunscreen.

Our oldest "kid"!

Tawny is now 18 and 1/2 years old, holy cow, that is an old cat! Oh my, that means Kerry and I have been married that long too. At least we haven't lost most of our teeth and I don't think our hearing is going, yet. And Golden says our eyes are spectacular for people "as old as you are", yikes! Tawny has been with us for so long it is sad to see her getting so old, she is a skinny, frail, old lady cat. We still love her though and she still likes to get drinks out of the bathtub. And someday maybe someone will leave more comments on my blog. :)

This is my knee.

This may not look like my knee but it is. The one with the complete tear that is. So I get to have surgery on Feb. 20. Lucky me! Actually I don't have to have the repair done if I am willing to give up basketball, tennis, skiing........and I really am lucky because I haven't had a lot of pain since I hurt my knee the end of Dec. while we were skiing. I am also glad that we live in a time when knees can be repaired. Unfortunately I will have more pain post surgery that I do now. I guess I can expect 2 weeks on crutches and 3-6 months to complete return to activity. My children will get to be my slaves!

Lucky boy!

This is one lucky boy to have such an awesome sister! Amanda spoils Kason like crazy. She is such a great big sister. She helps me out so much when I work by picking up the kids and driving them where they need to go. I have really been glad she has her drivers license. Love you Manny!

Lately all four of the kids have been watching "Avatar, The Last Airbender", a nickelodeon cartoon that even I enjoy. It has three seasons. We own DVD's of the first season and have the others recorded for endless Avatar enjoyment! Below is a picture of three of my kids in their "Avatar" Halloween costumes. :)

Simple joys!

One of the joys of my life is listening to Kerry play his guitar. He is so good and can play so many things! I especially enjoy listening to him sing and play while I am working on my computer. Our fireplace upstairs is so cozy, warm and beautiful, add some guitar strumming to that scene and a couple of cute kids and for me it is a photo moment.
Kason really wants to be like his dad, in all ways, but definately in guitar playing. Lauren will join in a song or two with her pretty voice or sometimes she will get out her own little "sweet girl" guitar and strum a bit.
