Hobbit Leg

Kerry's hobbit foot is has gotten worse so now we'll have to call it his hobbit leg! You can see that the bruising goes from mid-calf all the way to the ends of his toes. After 9 days his ankle seems worse rather than better so he had an MRI today. We should get the results back later this week.
Update: The MRI showed a destroyed anterior talofibular ligament. Time will tell if surgery is needed. If Kerry's ankle is stable after healing then no surgery, if not we'll have to explore the surgery option.

Just to make your mouth water! Yum!

We've been grilling! I just wanted to make you hungry!

Softball girl.

Lauren is getting her first opportunity to play softball. She is in the IF Bobbie Sox 4th grade league. Due to all the rainly weather, she has only got to play two games and the season is half over. Yesterday she made a double play, catching the ball in the air at short stop and then throwing the ball to first before the runner could tag up. The two outs ended the game so it was fun for her and fun to watch too.

Hobbit Foot again.

And here's how Kerry's foot looks today. Look at those colorful toes!

Wild Animals

We needed a break the other day and took the kids to the zoo. Idaho Falls has such a nice little zoo! Here are some of the wild animals we saw.
New Asian Sloth Bears.
Mother and baby Serval.
And here are a couple of pictures of the strangest animals at the zoo!

My Sister.

This is my wonderful sister, Rebecca, and her oldest daughter, Emily. Emily and her dad, Travis, were in a very serious motorcycle/vehicle accident 8 days ago. This past week has been filled with prayers, worry, hospital visits and helping Rebecca and her family in any way we can.

We will continue to pray, worry and help. Travis is still in critical condition. Emily got released from the hospital yesterday and is so much improved! Rebecca has been so strong and my heart aches for her. It has been a time to pull together as a family and also pull together with Travis's family. So many of my brothers and sisters traveled to be here and all offered their love and support and donated time by staying at the hospital and by caring for Rebecca's three younger kids. My parents have had all three kids with them since the accident and they have really given such amazing help in so many ways at their home, at Rebecca's home and at the hospital. I am so proud of all of my family! With great love and faith we look forward to the best for Rebecca and her family. We love you!

Mission Homecoming

Mom and Dad had their mission homecoming at church over Memorial Day weekend. Here is their "After Mission" picture. They gave great talks in church and then we had a nice meal at their house. I am very glad to have them home!
Here I am with Mom and my sisters who were there, (5 of the 8 daughters).
The young girls had fun weaving Grandma a crown and bracelet of flowers and were delighted that she enjoyed wearing them!

Happy Early Father's Day!

We got a new grill and it runs on natural gas! No more having to run get propane refilled in the middle of a BBQ. We had the gas line put in when our basement was finished last year. We had to install a conversion kit in the new grill but it works great! Hopefully we will get to BBQ with many family and friends this year!
