Conference Track Meet.

Kieran finished out his track season at the Conference Track Meet which included all the 7th and 8th Grade track teams from Blackfoot up to Rexburg, there were lots of kids participating. He made it into the finals (top 9 distances) in both the discuss and shot put. He was the only 7th grader in each final. He got personal records in both events with 103'5" in the discuss to finish 5th and 38'5" in shot put to finish 8th.
He really enjoyed the throwing events and is looking forward to a throwing camp in June. He also got a personal record in the 800 but didn't place. His running improved enormously during track this year and that will really help him in football. He already had his first football camp this past week too. What a busy boy! Grandpa Smith came to the track meet and it was fun to hear about his past track prowess. He really enjoyed watching the meet. It was fun to have him there.

Hedge be gone!

We've been busy with yard work again. Here is part of the hedge lining the driveway. At this point we'd removed about 7 large bushes. But, after shredding a couple of tow straps and nearly damaging Kerry's nice truck, we decided to call in reinforcements.
Kerry's dad brought his tractor over to pull out the largest dreadful bushes. We even broke a chain these bushes are so tough.
Luckily the tractor was tougher.
Then we had to get a chain saw to section everything and make several trips to the dump. These work projects sure get expensive.
But, anyway, we did it, the hedge is gone, now we get to decide what to put in it's place.

Just Ducky!

Last Sunday Nathan's family visited us for about 45 minutes before they had to get back to Utah.
We had fun seeing them and packed some fun into the short visit. The kids had a great time playing with the ducks who are getting bigger every day.

I'm out of duct tape!

For some reason I can't find any duct tape at my house.
Here is Kason and the whale he made from a balloon and duct tape.
Here is Kason with the Hindenburg he made from foil and duct tape. Yesterday he and Kieran had fun trying to blow it up with firecrackers. Is it a good idea to let your sons watch "Mythbusters"?Today Kason decided to make himself a boxing speed bag out of a cardboard, a balloon and duct tape. He never even mentions the projects he is working on until he is done. Then he is proud to show us his work.
Anyway, I wonder where all my duct tape is!

Dry skin?

I found this lotion that I really like. It is a Melaleuca product and works great for my dry skin.
Almost anyone in my extended family can go buy their own Melaleuca products at my cost here in the store in IF or online. Oh, and I love the vanilla bean chapstick too! Dry skin and lips beware!

Welcome home Mom and Dad!

There was a "Welcome Home" banner and balloons.
Then some happy hugs for cousin Zaidee and everyone else from Grandma.
Even more hugs from grandpa. Yes, Amanda has a blue streak in her hair.
And even a kiss or two. Kason is looking pretty happy about seeing Grandma!
Here is the welcome home crew. This seems like a small group for our family.
We helped unload the car and this is what was in their Honda Pilot. After 18 months in the Boston area completing a successful missions and a long trip home, HERE THEY ARE! We are glad they are back home.

Friends and Cousins

For my kids, cousins are their best friends! LaCretia stayed at our house Friday and Saturday evenings. She is heading home today to get to see her Mom for Mother's Day. It is cool that she and Amanda can drive themselves back and forth which lets them see each other more often.
