Ride a bike!

S0, Kason took the money he earned from the video and bought himself a bike. He loves it and can't wait for warmer weather so he can ride it more!
And Kerry found a used 2006 Honda CB599 and bought himself a bike. He loves it and can't wait for warmer weather so he can ride it more!
He is planning to ride it to work when the weather is nice. Both days.
NICE!!
Roger took his sons out for their annual birthday dinner on the same day Kerry got the bike. I snapped this picture of the four of them.

Music Video in the Making

My great sis-in-law, Shelby, called last week and said a production company needed kids about Kason's size to be "extras" in a Taylor Swift music video, would Kason be interested? He decided he was, I'm sure the $50 pay didn't sway him. That's a lot of money when you are 8.
So we got to the shoot which was in Rigby and it took Kason about 2 minutes to make friends. The kids were all in "uniform" since they were attending a very strict school.
It was fun for me to watch the video production side of things and I took a bunch of pictures. It was a two day shoot but I had to work hygiene the second day so these are all pictures from day one. The Taylor Swift song is "Change" and the production done under the Sony umbrella for a company called "scattertunes" which is a competitor for itunes. You can check them out on the internet.
Kason was in the first scene depicting downtrodden school kids waiting in line for their disgusting lunch. Of course, the teachers got all the yummy food. Kason spent about an hour standing like that in line, he earned his $.
Brynlee got in the next scene, she looks so cute! The girl with her head on her hands was the star of the show and leads the kids into a rebellion later on.
The video camera was a Canon 7d, which has amazing video capability. Luckily we didn't have to worry about audio during the production so the kids could make noise and so could all the moms and others in the audience.
More down trodden lunchroom boys, you just feel kinda bad for them don't you?
Shelby was all set for her part as the stern school secretary but, they didn't get to her part until day 2 so we just watched and drank Diet Coke. :)
Later in the day and since it is Idaho, the wind picked up so we moved outside for a chilly and windy full afternoon. And Kason still having fun with a new friend.
And still the kids play the part of the oppressed school students. And the mom's rushed to get them into their coats in between takes. And look, the little girl is stepping out of line just about ready to lead the kids in their escape from oppression and toward pizza and fun.
The start and end of the video were shot the first day and the classroom scenes the second so no pictures of the "rebellion", you will just have to watch the video.
But here are some of the boys making their break for freedom and toward the toys and pizza on the playground.
Pizza!!! Playtime!!! Lets get our coats back on!
Thanks for inviting us to participate, Shelby. Sure makes you appreciate all the work involved in producing a video.

Lauren's Friends

Last month I took Kason and Lauren and a couple of her friends sledding on a little hill by the soccer fields. They had a ball!
Kason loves playing in the snow! I really need to take him sledding more!
He took his little snowboard too.
It is easy to see that he had a blast.
And so did Lauren, look at her go!!
These are two of her friends from school. Riley, who is in Mr. Wetzel's 5th grade class with Lauren is next to her. And below them is Celeste, who was on Lauren's basketball team. They had so much fun sledding!
Then, last Thursday Lauren had another great day with friends. While Kason and I where doing a video shoot in which he was an "extra" (more about that later and the reason for the Police Line yellow ribbon), she got to hang out with Rigby friends. This is Devynee, both friend and cousin.
And this is Mckenzie, who lived across the street from us in Rigby, she and Lauren have been friends since birth! They had some hair and makeup fun. Friends are awesome!

Guitars

I took pictures of Kerry's guitars and put this image together for a birthday present. He has a Martin D28 Acoustic and a Custom Taylor Acoustic Electric. The image turned out pretty cool. His guitars are so beautiful! The wood is awesome. I am so glad he is so musical.

Please come here, Spring.

We've had a couple of almost spring type days lately. The kids are hoping,
and getting a little fresh air,
and looking cute,
and hunting things???!
Oh, he's a boy, any reason to shoot a gun is good.

If you give a boy a knife......

He will eventually cut himself.
Warning--graphic picture below!! If blood makes you sick just go no further.
Kason loves to carve wood. The inevitable finally happened. A finger slicing. Kason was pretty unhappy about it all. But, Kerry opted not to do stitches. It sure is nice to have a Dr. in the house. Somehow a big bandage makes it all better.
This is real. Be careful with knives!!

Happy Birthday to me!

Yup, it's me #43. I thought I'd post a couple of picture of me from my birthday.
I had a great day! My wonderful friend, Sheila took Amanda and me out to Pachanga's for lunch. Yummy!
For dinner, my parents took me and this handsome hunk out to eat at the Snake Bite Restaurant, oh my, it was delicious! Thanks Mom and Dad.
Kerry and the kids got me some parfume, books and an ipod Touch--it is so cool! I love it!!
I had an awesome day!
